From a 19th-century mill to the sustainable packaging of the future
In the heart of Catalonia, near the Llobregat River, our plant was originally built as a mill in 1814. During the 19th and 20th centuries, the site evolved into a textile center, becoming an industrial landmark until 1966.
Since 1972, the facilities have hosted the production of cellulose packaging, marking the beginning of Decapulp’s modern history.

From then to now
1814
Construction of the mill for flour production, powered by water.
1831
Establishment of the “Colònia de l’Ametlla de Casserres” textile center, active until 1966.
1972
Start of cellulose packaging production.
1980s–1990
Development of innovative technologies based on paper and cardboard reuse.
2000+
International expansion: over 85% of production exported to more than 12 European countries.
2025
Investment in a new production plant with new machinery and a warehouse to keep pace with developments in different markets.
